Ruroc EOX Ignis
Since buying my KTM 890 Duke GP, I’ve been enjoying wearing my brilliant AGV K6 Secret helmet again. However, Ruroc then released a bright orange version of their striking EOX helmet.
While it’s not an exact match for the KTM’s orange, it’s still orange, and it looks fantastic—so, of course, I wanted one. When it went on sale and included a free Shockwave Bluetooth audio system, it was impossible to resist.
To be honest, I wasn’t a big fan of Ruroc helmets before the EOX was launched. The Atlas always looked great, but I thought it seemed oversized on everyone I’d seen wearing one. The EOX, however, looks smaller and, in my opinion, just better.
When the helmet arrived, I was immediately impressed. The packaging is top-notch, and the helmet comes in a nice drawstring bag. The finish is absolutely stunning - it’s a beautiful piece of kit. The interior is equally impressive, with a premium feel, and it’s super snug and comfortable once you have it on.
Inside the box, there’s an extra set of cheek pads, allowing you to customise the fit, which is a great touch. The helmet also comes with both a clear visor and a dark smoke visor as standard. This is a fantastic inclusion, saving you the hassle of buying an extra visor right away. Plus, Ruroc offers a great range of additional visors, including some stunning designs, if you want to change things up.
The visor also comes in a protective bag to keep it safe and scratch-free, which is another thoughtful touch.
What’s even better is that the helmet includes an EOX Pinlock 120 XLT Insert as well. There’s only one, so you’ll need to decide which visor gets it, but considering these usually cost around £30 to buy, it’s a fantastic bonus to have it included.
The Shockwave Bluetooth audio system was quick and easy to install, thanks to the helmet’s integrated wiring for the components. This thoughtful design made the fitting process an absolute breeze.
Once fitted, the Shockwave system integrates perfectly into the helmet’s design, making it barely noticeable. I really appreciate integrated audio systems like this, as they look far cleaner than having an extra gadget stuck to the side of the helmet. Ruroc have done an excellent job with the design of this system.
Overall, I’m really happy with the Ruroc EOX Ignis. It looks absolutely stunning with the dark smoke visor installed and is genuinely a beautiful piece of kit. This will definitely be my go-to helmet when I’m riding the KTM.
